My Oscar Predictions

by | Mar 8, 2010

Best Picture: The Hurtlocker (CORRECT)

I think District 9 SHOULD win but I don’t think it will. Avatar has a slim chance, but I still think the Academy are going to give it to a film with more depth.

Actor in a Leading Role: Jeff Bridges (CORRECT)

The critics seem sure of Bridges’ win and he did win a Golden Globe. However, the Academy does love them some Clooney, as do I. So if Bridges does not win it will surely be Clooney.

Actor in a Supporting Role: Christoph Waltz, Inglorious Basterds (CORRECT)

Hands down, no doubt. Brilliant acting.

Actress in a Leading Role: Sandra Bullock or Meryl Streep (CORRECT-ISH)

I really have no idea on this one as I didn’t watch either film but I heard both women did some amazing acting! Sandra has never won so it would be nice, Meryl wins without even trying. But she can’t help her awesomeness.

Actress in a Supporting Role: Mo’Nique (CORRECT)

This one is a definite.

Director: Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker (CORRECT)

Could she be the first female director to win an Oscar? I hope so! She deserves it!

Animated Feature Film: Up (CORRECT)

Such a great film and very touching!

Art Direction: Avatar (CORRECT)

Cinematography: Avatar (CORRECT)

Foreign Language: The White Rabbit (WRONG)

Film Editing: The Hurt Locker (CORRECT)

Adapted Screenplay: Up in the Air (WRONG)

I’m not guessing on any others because, honestly, I have no idea!
