Her: A Collaborative Poem

by | Feb 4, 2014

A few weeks ago I asked for your help in writing a collaborative poem. Thank you to all that participated. We have a finished poem!

Her: A Collaborative Poem

She is strong.

She is infinite love.

She likes to watch The Big Lebowski

And drink vegan white russians.

As the rain falls.

At dawn she sits on her patio,

And listens to the engines run downtown,

And the soft hum of people on their morning commute.

In the morning light,

Her soul shimmers like butterfly wings.

Her life and her heart changed forever twice,

And each time she couldn’t remember what it was like before.

But she remembers his eyes,

And the curls that flop on his head.

And the fingers that close tight around hers

As he says, “Mama, you’re beautiful.”
